Moving through the New Year with "Intent"

I have already said that 2010 is going to be a year of being conscious.  Conscious of my choices, my actions (and their impact) and how they lead to my future.  I once again was caught up last year in just working my way through my work, projects and relationships....it is not only "understimulating" but it is also boring.  I have decided for 2010 that I need to expand myself......the question is how?

Well, two of my dear friends approached me with a business opportunity and I said yes....I decided that I "had" to give it a try...because if I didn't then I am just signing up for more of the same.  So I signed on and it has been a great couple of days.  I have change my mindset to strive for success, I have written down my goals and I am working a bit every day to make them a realization in my life.

I have decided that 2010 should be a year focused on the life I want to create for myself and my family versus longing or bitching about the life that I don't have.....and I have the ability to create this life that I long for so much.  So our adventure begins....

I have some strict goals in the next 30/60/90 days....and I am ready to make this happen....cuz there is no time like the present.....

The New Year and the Dreaded Resolution

Yes, we are just two days away from ringing in a new decade.  This is the time of year when we all ponder our resolutions....those critical changes that we are going to make to magically transform our lives into what we think we want.  Yes, losing weight, cutting down on sweets, increasing our exercise, paying more attention to our friends and family and making our relationships more meaningful.  You know you have made these resolutions several times....you can admit it, we all do it.  So what really makes a resolution stick?

I'm not sure I know but this year, as I enter the next decade, I have decided to change the way I look at resolutions.  Don't worry, I'm still going to increase my exercise, cut down on carbs and lose weight.  More importantly, I am going to make a resolution to really think about my actions this year.  When I say think about my actions this year, I would like to be more conscious of myself this year.  I want to begin to pay more close attention to what I am doing, who I am doing it with and where it will take me if I continue.  Yes, that means paying attention to my career, my family/friends and if the choices I am making will take me where I want to go in my life.  Yes, it is time to "consciously take stock" of what I am doing, where I am going and how this is making me feel about my life.  The question is how?

Well, that is the adventure of life, isn't it.....stay tuned and you can take this journey with me.  The journey to being healthy, honorable and getting to my goals.  My hope is that we will all learn something along the way....

The Puma View...

What is the Puma View?  I am looking at life from the Puma View....what does that mean?  Well, since I'm not older, wealthier and/or divorced, it's premature to call me a cougar so that must make me a Puma.  The Puma View is my view of the world.  My quirky observations of life after 40.  The question still remains:  Who is she and what makes her someone I want to read?

I am a 41 year old, never married professional woman (and no children) who spends a good amount of her time observing life and making choices (some good, some not so good).  My goal?  To be a person who can bring a little light, joy and wit into the world through this blog.  And maybe I will help someone else pay that forward.

And this begins life through the Puma View....
